CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Sept. 28 -- The University of Virginia issued the following news release:
The No. 8 Virginia field hockey team (9-2) dropped a heartbreaking loss to Boston University 3-2 Sunday after the Terriers (4-6) won 7-5 in the second round of penalty strokes. It was the first time since 2001 the Cavaliers have entered penalty strokes.
The Cavaliers remained winless against BU, falling to 0-4 all-time against the Terriers.
