CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Nov. 11 -- The University of Virginia issued the following news release:
Virginia midfielder Tony Tchani (Bafang, Cameroon) earned ACC Freshman of the Year and All-ACC second team honors, while Shawn Barry and Brian Ownby were named to the All-ACC freshmen team, the conference announced Tuesday.
Tchani leads the Cavaliers in goals (nine), despite playing in just 13 games before suffering a season-ending knee injury on Oct. 21 vs. Longwood. Tch . . .
