TIKRIT, Iraq, March 17 -- The U.S. Army 1st Armored Division issued the following news release:
Iraqi Soldiers discovered a weapons cache of explosives east of Balad, March 16.
The weapons cache included ammonium nitrate, more than a dozen mortar shells, several pounds of homemade explosives, several weapons, and materials for making improvised explosive devices.
"These discoveries will continue to deny the enemy the means to conduct future attac . . .
