DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Sept. 20 -- Savannah State University issued the following news release:
Brian Sumlar ran for 91 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead Bethune-Cookman to a 31-9 win over Savannah State at Municipal Stadium before a crowd of 4,131 fans.
The Wildcats, who rolled up 410 yards of offense, jumped out to a 14-0 lead.
Sumlar scored on a one-yard run with 4:58 left in the first quarter and Phil Kirkland scored on a five-yard run with 12 . . .
