LATE FIELD GOAL LIFTS TIGERS PAST CLARK ATLANTA

ATLANTA, Oct. 4 -- Savannah State University issued the following news release:

Derek Williams' 37-yard field goal with 1:09 left turned out to be the game-winner as Savannah State defeated Clark Atlanta 17-14 at Panther Stadium.

The crowd of 17,893 saw Williams hit a 27-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 14.

The Tigers snapped a four-game winning streak by Clark Atlanta and spoiled the Panthers homecoming celebration. . . .
