MANDAN, N.D, Nov. 10 -- The National Guard issued the following news release:

"They are dead; but they live in each patriot's breast, and their names are engraven on honor's bright crest," wrote Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
At the Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, 2,799 names are "engraven," remembered in their death for the life they lived and the war they fought.
