WASHINGTON, Feb. 5 -- The Health Forum issued the following news release:
Uninsured patients in California paid an average 18%-20% more than Medicare patients for hospital services between 2000 and 2005, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Southern California and RAND. However, the study period precedes a 2006 state law that required hospitals to offer patients with incomes up to 350% of the federal poverty level discounts equivalent to Medicare, Medicaid . . .
