JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., June 16 -- East Tennessee State University issued the following news release:
The students in the GEAR UP program at David Crockett High School are engaged in a unique project harnessing alternative energy sources to operate the school's greenhouse.
A towering wind turbine and a bank of photovoltaic cells generate power which is then stored in batteries donated to the project by Exide. As needed, the batteries operate fans, louvers, water, . . .
