FLORENCE, S.C., Dec. 4 -- Francis Marion University issued the following press release:
A former governor and Florence businessman will be awarded honorary degrees from Francis Marion University during spring commencement ceremonies at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, in the Smith University Center gymnasium.
Selected to receive honorary doctoral degrees are Emerson Gower, Jr. of Florence and Gov. James "Jim" Hodges of Columbia.
