LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 -- The Los Angeles County District Attorney issued the following news release:
A former Maywood Police officer convicted in June of using excessive force and filing a false police report was sentenced to jail today, the District Attorney's Office announced.
Deputy District Attorney Margo Baxter of the Justice System Integrity Division said Michael Singleton, 43, was sentenced to 18 months in county jail and three years of formal probation. . . .
