MERCEDES, Texas, Jan. 11 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Customs and Border Protection issued the following press release:
Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector seized over 400 pounds of cocaine near the Rio Grande River today. The value of the narcotics is more than $15 million.
The seizure occurred today when Border Patrol Agents assigned to the Mercedes Border Patrol Station were alerted to possible illegal activity . . .
