ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 29 -- The School Nutrition Association issued the following news item:
The House Education and Labor Committee sent a letter to the Government Accounting Office (GAO) last week, requesting a study on state and local initiatives to fund programs that provide free meals to students in the reduced price category. The 2004 Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act authorized a pilot program to study the effectiveness of eliminating the reduced price category ( . . .
