UN Urged to Put Animal Welfare on the Agenda

WASHINGTON, Sept. 30 -- The Humane Society issued the following news release:

A coalition of leading international animal welfare organizations, supported by the governments of Brazil, Argentina, Sweden and Costa Rica, has called on the UN's Food & Agriculture Organization (UN FAO) to place the welfare of animals on their agenda for the first time.
