ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., March 3 -- The American Academy of Pediatrics issued the following news release:
In 1997, the Illinois Department of Public Health mandated hepatitis B vaccination before students entered 5th grade. Before this requirement, black and Hispanic students were less likely than white students to be immunized against hepatitis B.
