ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., April 7 -- The American Academy of Pediatrics issued the following news release:

Young athletes may consider strength training to improve their athletic performance. Strength training involves using weights or resistance to build muscle strength. The AAP has issued a revised policy statement, "Strength Training by Children and Adolescents: Guidance for the Clinician in Rendering Pediatric Care," to help pediatricians ensure that strength training . . .
