DOVER, Del., Aug. 23 -- The University of Delaware issued the following news release:
U.S. Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., a University of Delaware alumnus, has been selected to run for vice president of the United States by presumptive Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama.
Obama announced the selection by text message and on his Web site early Saturday morning.
Biden is a 1965 graduate of the University and in 2004 was presented an honorary doctor of lett . . .
