SANTA FE, N.M., Aug. 31 -- Gov. Bill Richardson, D-N.M., issued the following press release:
Governor Bill Richardson has ordered the New Mexico Emergency Operation Center in Santa Fe to open and coordinate the state's efforts to assist the Gulf Coast affected by Hurricane Gustav.
"New Mexico has extensive disaster response and recovery resources that are ready to go if needed, and we are prepared to accept any evacuees that may be sent our way," said . . .
