WASHINGTON, June 25 -- The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers issued the following news release:
The Supreme Court decided two criminal cases today in favor of the petitioner-defendants. NACDL supported the petitioners in both cases with amicus curiae ("friend of the court") briefs.
In Kennedy v. Louisiana, No. 07-343, the Court decided 5-4 that a Louisiana man's death sentence for the state crime of raping a child under 12 was dispropor . . .
