Rep. Ryan Introduces Bill on Chronic Absenteeism
WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 -- Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, has introduced legislation (H.R. 4220) to amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 "to allow local educational agencies to use Federal funds for programs and activities that address chronic absenteeism." The bill was introduced on Aug. 30 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Wash. It was referred to the House Education and Labor Committee. Rep. Ryan Introduces Bill on Reducing Teacher Stress
WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 -- Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, has introduced legislation (H.R. 4221) to "require the Director of the National Institutes of Health to carry out a study to add to the scientific knowledge on reducing teacher stress and increasing teacher retention and well-being." The bill was introduced on Aug. 30 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Mike Bost, R-Ill. It was jointly referred to the House Education and Labor and Energy and Commerce committees.
