WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 -- Del. Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon, R-P.R., has introduced legislation (H.R. 4195) to amend titles XVIII and XIX of the Social Security Act "to make premium and cost-sharing subsidies available to low-income Medicare part D beneficiaries who reside in Puerto Rico or another territory of the U.S." The bill was introduced on Aug. 20 and was co-sponsored by Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, has introduced legislation (H.R. 4194) to amend the Communications Act of 1934 "to direct the Federal Communications Commission to designate 9-8-8 as the universal telephone number for the purpose of the national suicide prevention and mental health crisis hotline system operating through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and through the Veterans Crisis Line." WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 -- Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif., has introduced the Student and Taxpayer Protection Act (H.R. 4206) to amend the Higher Education Act of 1965 "to include requirements for programs of training to prepare students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation."
