WASHINGTON, June 24 (TNSFR) -- The University of Southern Mississippi has completed an inventory of Native American human remains and determined they are culturally affiliated with five tribal nations, according to a notice published by the National Park Service.
The remains consist of a cranium and mandible that were given to the university in 2015 by a community member. The only provenance information indicated the ancestor was recovered from a mound near Millry in Washington County, Alabama.
