Madison Area Technical College Urges DHS to Withdraw Proposed Visa Rule
WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 -- Madison Area Technical College, Wisconsin, has called on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to withdraw its proposed rule that seeks to replace the "duration of status" system for F and J non-immigrants with fixed periods of admission. In a public comment letter submitted by the college, concerns were raised about the substantial economic costs, administrative burdens, and negative impacts on student well-being that the rule could impose.
