CFTC Withdraws Proposed Rules on Market Governance
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (TNSFR) -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is withdrawing a set of proposed rules for designated contract markets and swap execution facilities. The proposed rules would have established governance and conflict of interest standards for market regulation functions.

DoEd Withdraws Funding Notices for 2 Programs
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education is canceling the competition for fiscal year 2025 awards under the High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). A notice of cancellation was issued for both programs.
The department is withdrawing the Notices Inviting Applications (NIAs) that were published in the Federal Register on Aug. 30, 2024. This action cancels the competition for 2025

EPA Issues Supplemental Rule for Renewable Fuel Standard
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has put out a supplemental proposed rule to adjust renewable fuel volume standards for 2026 and 2027. The proposal accounts for exemptions granted to small refineries for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 compliance years under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program.

FAA: Aerial Vehicle Safety Solutions Seeks Recission of Drone Operations Declaration
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (TNSFR) -- Aerial Vehicle Safety Solutions (AVSS), Fredericton, Canada, voluntarily requested the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration to rescind a declaration of compliance for the Skydio X10 with AVSS Parachute Recovery System (PRS-X10) unmanned aircraft. The FAA complied with the request, rescinding the operations over people declaration. This action is effective Sept. 18, 2025.

ITA to Review Trade Ruling on Softwood Lumber From Canada
WASHINGTON, Sept. 18 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration has received two requests for a panel review regarding the final determination on countervailing duties for certain softwood lumber products from Canada. The requests, filed with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Secretariat on Sept. 11, 2025, challenge the findings of a countervailing duty administrative review.
