Agricultural Marketing Service Raises Pear Assessment Rate in Oregon, Washington
WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service is raising the assessment rate for fresh pears grown in Oregon and Washington. This is based on a recommendation from the Fresh Pear Committee, which locally administers the marketing order for the fruit.
The final rule increases the assessment rate from $0.468 to $0.516 per 44-pound standard box or equivalent. This rate is for both "summer/fall" and "winter" pears and will be in effect for the 202

Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement Adjusts Civil Penalties for Outer Continental Shelf Violations
WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has published a final rule to adjust the maximum daily civil monetary penalty for violations of the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. This adjustment is in accordance with the Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act Improvements Act of 2015.

Justice Department Resolves Lead Paint Violations in Missouri
WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Justice lodged a proposed consent decree with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri to resolve alleged violations of the Toxic Substances Control Act's regulations.
The proposed decree addresses violations of the regulations that govern the renovation, repair, and painting of structures built before 1978, which may contain lead paint. The action was filed in a lawsuit entitled United States v. Orlando Askins et al.

Susquehanna River Basin Commission Approves 40 Consumptive Water Use Projects in Pennsylvania
WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 (TNSFR) -- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission has approved 40 projects for the consumptive use of water within the basin in Pennsylvania. The approvals were granted during the period of August 1-31, 2025.
