CalState-Stanislaus, East Bay Municipal Utility District to Repatriate Objects to California Valley Miwok Tribe, Ione Band
WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 (TNSFR) -- The California State University Stanislaus campus and East Bay Municipal Utility District are preparing to repatriate 204 objects of cultural patrimony. The items have been determined to have a cultural connection to the Miwok Tribe and the Ione Band. These cultural items were removed in 1993 from a site in Calaveras County.
The collection includes lithic flakes, shatters, a scraper, quartz minerals and soil samples. The items were removed from a site known as CA
