Mississippi Department of Archives & History Completes Inventory, Prepares to Repatriate Human Remains to the Chickasaw Nation
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (TNSFR) -- The Mississippi Department of Archives and History has completed an inventory of human remains and has determined a cultural affiliation with the Chickasaw Nation.
The human remains represent at least five individuals of Native American ancestry. The remains were excavated from various sites in Lee County, Mississippi, including 22LE504, 22LE524 and 22LE907.
