WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 -- The Oregon Association of Clean Water Agencies, Eugene, submitted a public comment letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to criticize its Draft Sewage Sludge Risk Assessment for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS). ORACWA urged the agency to revise the assessment, arguing it presents an unrealistic and overly conservative estimate of risk that could lead to inappropriate federal and state regulations.
