University of North Dakota Prepares to Return Native American Items to Northern Cheyenne Tribe
WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (TNSFR) -- The University of North Dakota intends to repatriate three cultural items to the Northern Cheyenne Tribe in Montana. The artifacts, which include a buckskin vest, a pair of moccasins, and a quiver and bow case, were found to be culturally affiliated with the tribe. The university is proceeding with the repatriation in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
