Two Energy Companies Announce Plan to Merge
WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 -- Black Hills Corp., Rapid City, South Dakota, and NorthWestern Energy Group, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, have announced a definitive agreement to merge in an all-stock, tax-free transaction.
The deal, unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies, will create a new regulated electric and natural gas utility company with a combined enterprise value of $15.4 billion.
