NRC Event Notification: Damaged Moisture Density Gauge Reported in Bozeman
WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 (TNSoth) -- The Montana Department of Transportation has filed an event notification with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission after a moisture density gauge was damaged in an incident near Bozeman. The incident occurred on August 12, 2025, when a Troxler model 3440 Plus gauge fell from the back of a pickup truck. The fall dislodged the source from its shielded position and damaged the source rod and track.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 (TNSoth) -- The Montana Department of Transportation has notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission about damage to a moisture density gauge containing radioactive materials. The incident, detailed in an event notification report, occurred on August 12, 2025.
