University of Michigan Museum of Anthropological Archaeology Returns Ancient Artifacts to 3 Native American Tribes
WASHINGTON, Aug. 20 (TNSFR) -- The University of Michigan Museum of Anthropological Archaeology is moving to return a collection of Native American artifacts to three tribal nations.
The items are classified as unassociated funerary objects and have been deemed culturally affiliated with the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians, the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. This action aligns with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
