Fish & Wildlife Service: Virginia Sneezeweed Nears Recovery, Federal Protections May End
WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to remove Virginia sneezeweed, a flowering plant, from the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Plants.
This action follows a review indicating that threats to the species have lessened, meaning it no longer fits the definition of an endangered or threatened species. If this proposal is finalized, conservation measures under the Endangered Species Act would no longer apply to the plant.

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Completes Inventory of Remains Affiliated to 29 Native American Tribes
WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSFR) -- The University of Michigan Ann Arbor campus has finalized an inventory of human remains and items, concluding they are culturally tied to 29 Native American tribes. This conclusion, made under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), will allow for the return of the remains and objects.
