Fish & Wildlife Service: Virginia Sneezeweed Nears Recovery, Federal Protections May End
WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to remove Virginia sneezeweed, a flowering plant, from the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Plants.
This action follows a review indicating that threats to the species have lessened, meaning it no longer fits the definition of an endangered or threatened species. If this proposal is finalized, conservation measures under the Endangered Species Act would no longer apply to the plant.
