Mercyhurst University Concludes Inventory of Human Remains, Prepares for Repatriation to 21 Native Tribes
WASHINGTON, Aug. 5 (TNSFR) -- Mercyhurst University has finalized its inventory of ancestral human remains, establishing a cultural affiliation with 21 Indian tribes and Native Hawaiian organizations. The repatriation process, which aligns with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, will begin on or after September 4, 2025.
