Caltrans to Repatriate Cultural Items to Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation
WASHINGTON, July 29 (TNSFR) -- The California Department of Transportation is set to repatriate 4,720 associated funerary objects to the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, California, following the completion of an inventory and determination of cultural affiliation.
The objects, which include lithics, paleobotanicals, soil samples, faunal remains, shell and beads, were primarily gathered during archaeological investigations along Interstate 80 in Solano County between 1963 and 2011. One collection orig
