DOE Amends Decision on Highly Enriched Uranium Blend Down
WASHINGTON, July 25 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Energy announced an amended record of decision which outlines a revised plan for processing highly enriched uranium at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina.
DOE will now blend down approximately 2.2 metric tons of highly enriched uranium to produce high-assay low-enriched uranium diverting it from disposal in the liquid high-level waste management system.
