WASHINGTON, May 18 -- Aiken County, South Carolina, has requested the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to maintain the current water level of the New Savannah Bluff Lock and Dam (NSBL&D) pool, citing its critical importance to the region's economy and recreation.
