Peabody Museum Completes Inventory of Native American Human Remains and Funerary Objects Affiliated With Catawba Indian Nation
WASHINGTON, May 16 (TNSFR) -- The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
The inventory identifies physical remains of at least five Native American individuals and associated funerary objects originating from sites in Allendale, Beaufort, Hampton, and Richland Counties in South Carolina.

Peabody Museum to Repatriate Cultural Items to Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation
WASHINGTON, May 16 (TNSFR) -- The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has issued formal notice of its intent to repatriate 18 cultural items to the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, a federally recognized Indian Tribe formerly listed as the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, California.
