WASHINGTON, May 16 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Portland District has announced its intent to prepare a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) concerning the operation and maintenance of the Willamette Valley System (WVS) in Oregon. This action responds to a directive within the 2024 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) requiring the formal analysis of an alternative that would cease hydropower operations at the Corps-owned and operated Willamette Valley Projects.
