Hood Museum of Art Completes Inventory of Native American Human Remains for Repatriation to Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin
WASHINGTON, May 2 (TNSFR) -- The Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth College has finalized an inventory of human remains, identifying them as Native American in origin.
The remains, representing at least one individual, were acquired by the museum in 1939 from Professor F.D. Lord, who stated that they were "given to [him] by a man in Iowa." Despite this acquisition, no additional information has been discovered in the museum's archival records regarding the identity or history of the remains.
