WASHINGTON, March 15 (TNSFR) -- Naval Base Coronado in California has announced plans to repatriate unassociated funerary objects, sacred objects, and objects of cultural patrimony that were excavated from San Clemente Island. This action follows the requirements of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and aims to return these cultural items to the appropriate Native American Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations.
