San Juan National Forest to Repatriate Native American Remains and Artifacts
WASHINGTON, March 15 (TNSFR) -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service, through the San Juan National Forest, has announced its intent to repatriate the remains of ten individuals and an associated funerary object recovered from federal land in Montezuma County, Colorado. The remains were found at two archaeological sites within the National Register of Historic Places Archaeological District 5MT6599 along the shorelines of McPhee Reservoir on the Dolores Ranger District.
