Kentucky PSC Closes Case on East Kentucky Power Cooperative Earnings Mechanism Distribution
FRANKFORT, Kentucky, Jan. 22 -- The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) has issued an order closing Case No. 2024-00131, which monitored the distribution of funds by East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc. (EKPC) to its member cooperatives.
This case stems from an earnings mechanism established in 2021, which allows EKPC to pass through excess earnings above a certain threshold to its 16 member cooperatives. In April 2024, EKPC requested and received an extension to complete the distribution

Ky. PSC to Hold Hearing on Louisville Gas & Electric, Ky. Utilities Joint Integrated Resource Plan
FRANKFORT, Kentucky, Jan. 22 -- The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) has scheduled a hearing on May 13, 2025, to review the Electronic 2024 Joint Integrated Resource Plan (JIRP) filed by Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) and Kentucky Utilities Company (KU). The JIRP outlines LG&E/KU's plan for meeting future electricity demand in their service territories.
