FBI Completes Repatriation Inventory of Human Remains and Funerary Objects
WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 (TNSFR) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), through its Portland Maine Resident Agency, has finalized an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects in accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). A human scalp, identified with a tag indicating its connection to the Mescalero Apache Tribe, was among the items recovered after being offered for sale at an auction house in Maine.
