Center for Biological Diversity: Arctic Win - Interior Department Denies Lease Extension for 'Liberty' Offshore Drilling Project in Alaska
WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 -- The Center for Biological Diversity issued the following news release on Jan. 7, 2025: ANCHORAGE, Alaska-- The Department of the Interior published a decision today denying an extension of offshore oil and gas leases for the Liberty Unit in the Beaufort Sea. The leases were held by Hilcorp Alaska, which had been trying to develop the leases under the Liberty Project.
