Justice Dept.: Missouri Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Civil Rights and Arson Charges for Setting Fire to Mormon Church
WASHINGTON, Dec. 20 -- The U.S. Department of Justice issued the following news release on Dec. 19, 2024:
A Missouri man pleaded guilty to federal civil rights offenses for setting fire to a house of worship.
According to court documents, Christopher Scott Pritchard, 48, pleaded guilty to a two-count information charging him with arson for setting fire to the Church of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on April 28, 2021. Pritchard admitted that he intentionally set fire to t
