WASHINGTON, Dec. 18 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior National Park Service has determined that Native American human remains held by the Harvard University Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology that were originally collected from Sherman Institute, Riverside County, California, should be returned to the a known lineal descendant, Peter Bagnod, as part of a federal repatriation program, according to a notice published in the Federal Register on Nov. 14, 2024.
