City of Boulder: Interest Rate on Tenant Security Deposit Increases for 2025
BOULDER, Colorado, Dec. 17 -- The city of Boulder issued the following news on Dec. 16, 2024:
The City of Boulder legally requires that landlords return interest on the security deposits they hold for their tenants.
The interest rate for 2025 tenant security deposits is set at 2.92%, effective Monday, Jan. 1, 2025. This is the mathematical average of the one-year certificate of deposit from the top three financial institutions in Boulder, based on market share data as of Dec. 16, 2024.
