Conn. Gov. Lamont Announces $9.8 Million in Federal Grants to Benefit Municipal Parks in Bridgeport, Bristol, Stamford
HARTFORD, Connecticut, Dec. 7 -- Gov. Ned Lamont, D-Connecticut, issued the following news release on Dec. 6, 2024:
Governor Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) today announced that the cities of Bridgeport, Bristol, and Stamford are being awarded more than $9.8 million in competitive federal funding that will benefit four municipal park development projects in each city.

U.S. Attorney for D.C.: Two Men From Connecticut and Tennessee Sentenced to Prison for Assaulting Law Enforcement During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach
WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 -- The office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia issued the following news release:
Two men from Connecticut and Tennessee were sentenced to prison today after they both previously pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement during the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. Their actions and the actions of others disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election.
