Airman Accounted for from WWII (Curran, B.)
WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 -- The U.S. Department of Defense's Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency issued the following news release:
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced today that U.S. Army Air Force Pvt. Bernard J. Curran, 20, of Lowell, Massachusetts, who was captured and died as a prisoner of war during World War II, was accounted for August 2, 2024.
In late 1941, Curran was a member of 17th Pursuit Squadron, 24th Pursuit Group, when Japanese forces invaded the Philippine Islands
